Traffic Incident at 7900 Fondren

March 2, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7900 Fondren about 10 p.m. on Thursday (Mar.1).

The identity of the male victim, in his 40s, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant P. Casares and Officers L. Morrison and R. Davidson reported:

According to witnesses, a motorcycle rider traveling south on Fondren at a high rate of speed was attempting to pass a truck when he struck a wrecker, which was leaving a private driveway. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
