Incident at 4800 Allendale

March 15, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4800 Allendale on March 15, 2007 about 2 a.m.

The identity of the victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O. Belmarez and Officer E. Carstens reported:

The victim was sitting inside his vehicle in the parking lot of the Concorde Allendale apartments when he was shot. Witnesses heard a gunshot and then observed the victim drive out of the complex and onto Allendale Street and strike a fire hydrant in the median of the road. When police responded, they found the victim had been shot. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

There were reports of a suspicious blue Chevrolet pickup truck seen in the area when the shooting occurred. It is unclear if this vehicle was involved in this incident.
