Incident at 5622 Northridge Drive

March 17, 2007 -- Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5622 Northridge Drive about 10:45 p.m. on Friday (March 16).

The suspect, Trenique L. Knapper (b/f, DOB 1/6/88), faces possible murder charges. The victim, Walter L. Hutchinson, 22, of 8415 Saylynn suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants O. Belmarez, K. Rivera and Officer S. Jefferson reported:

Knapper and Hutchinson became involved in an argument, which then escalated into a gun battle between the two of them. Knapper shot Hutchinson multiple times with a shotgun and was arrested at the scene. Both weapons were recovered in this incident.
