Traffic Incident at North Loop West

May 3, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a traffic accident that critically injured a man in the North Loop West (610 West) mainlanes and T.C. Jester about 1:04 a.m. on Thursday (May 3).

The victim, identified as Michael J. Callagan, 38, was transported to Ben Taub Hospital and is, at this time, listed in critical condition.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant P. Casares and Officer D.J. Gutierrez reported:

Mr. Callagan was traveling eastbound on the North Loop West (610 West) mainlanes in a four-door Chevrolet when his vehicle struck the concrete median and rolled over several times. Mr. Callagan was ejected from the vehicle.

The investigation is continuing.
