Incident at 6405 West Bellfort

May 5, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6405 West Bellfort about 6:30 p.m. on Friday (May 4).

The victim is identified as Reginald Isaac Johnson, 41, of 6405 West Bellfort #106. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officer S.R. Straughter reported:

According to witnesses, Mr. Johnson overheard an argument outside of his apartment between his three children and several other black males. He went outside to separate the groups by sending his children inside and asking the suspects to leave. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot Johnson several times and attempted to shoot one of Johnson's sons as he fled.

The suspects are only described as several black males.
