Traffic Incident at South Loop West at South Freeway

May 7, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at the South Loop West (610 South) and the South Freeway (State Highway 288) northbound ramp about 3:50 p.m. on Sunday (May 6).

The victim, William Sparks, 63, of 19439 Enchanted Oaks in Spring Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant A.C. Francois and Officers R. Kessler and R. Davidson reported:

Witnesses saw Mr. Sparks traveling westbound on the South Loop West on a red motorcycle. As he entered the South Freeway northbound ramp, he lost control of the motorcycle and went airborne for several feet.

The investigation is continuing.
