REVISED 2ND UPDATE: Help Sought in Woman's Death One Year Ago at 5910 Wayland


July 29, 2015 - In a news conference today (July 29), Houston police homicide investigators asked for the public's assistance in providing information on a woman's death at 5910 Wayland about 11 p.m. on July 22, 2014.

The victim, Lakeisha Perkins, 35, a mother of three, was sexually assaulted and pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and J. Burton told reporters HPD patrol officers discovered Ms. Perkins in an abandoned warehouse at the above address.  Autopsy results from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences revealed she had been sexually assaulted prior to her death and died as a result of her injuries.

Investigators were joined by members of Ms. Perkins' family in urging anyone with information in this case to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.  A Crime Stoppers reward of up to $5,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and charges against a suspect in this case.

Ms. Perkins'  mother, Jane Perkins-Briscoe, and stepfather, Moses Briscoe, said Lakeisha leaves behind two daughters, 16 and 14, and a 12-year-old son.
