Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9900 Town Park Drive

October 8 2015 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a juvenile male about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday (October 7).

The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. L. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer P. Vela reported:

Five male friends met up and spent the late night and early morning hours riding around town in a Honda Accord.  At some point, one male inside the vehicle threw an object at a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.  The vehicle made a U-turn and pursued the five males.  A suspect(s) inside the pursuing vehicle then fired several shots at the males inside the Honda and two of them were struck.  The driver of the Honda then accelerated and attempted to get away from the pursuing vehicle.  The Honda lost control and struck the concrete barrier of the West Sam Houston Parkway South.  One male died at the scene, while the juvenile male, 16, was transported by HFD paramedics to an area hospital in an unknown condition.

The suspects' vehicle is described only as a black, four-door sedan.  At this time, there is no description of the wanted suspect(s).

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
