Incident at 11030 Kingspoint #7

August 16, 2006 -- Houston police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a bystander at a nightclub at 11,030 Kingspoint #7 on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at about 2:20 a.m.

According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.W. Howard and Officer P.T.Yochum, HPD officers were called to a shooting in progress at the Rumba Club. Upon arrival, officers found 26-year-old Larry Savala lying in the parking lot from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses told investigators that a disturbance broke out in the club between two groups. Club employees broke up the disturbance before a fight started and removed the two groups from the club.

Once outside the disturbance continued. A person from one of the groups had gotten into a vehicle preparing to leave while the other group kept yelling at him. The suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, got out of the vehicle with a gun and fired several shots at the group. The victim, Larry Savala of 2314 Susan, who was not with either group causing the disturbance, was shot.

The suspect got into a silver or light colored older model Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac, possibly a 1988 to 1995 model.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 14010 South Post Oak Boulevard

November 9, 2020 - The fatal shooting of a robbery suspectat 14010 South Post Oak Boulevard that occurred about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday (November 8) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The identity of the suspect is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

The male shooter, 29, suffered injuries to his arms and head.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. McDonald and J. Escobar reported:  

A male suspect, armed with a metal pipe and gun, forced his way into a business owner's (shooter's) warehouse and demanded money.  The suspect assaulted the business owner with the metal pipe, injuring his arms and head.  Fearing for his life, the business owner retrieved a gun and shot the suspect multiple times.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the suspect deceased.  

Detectives consulted with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, who will present this case to a Harris County grand jury.
