Incident at 8100 Gulf Freeway

March 15, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8100 Gulf Freeway about 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2006.

The victim's identity is pending notification to next of kin. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officer S. R. Straughter reported:

At approximately 9 a.m., a witness contacted police after hearing several gunshots near Sims Bayou on the Gulf Freeway near Broadway. An officer responded to the area but was unable to locate anything at that time. At approximately 3 p.m., police received a call after an individual found the victim lying underneath the bridge.

At the time of the shooting, a witness observed what appeared to be a silver/gray, four-door Honda Accord leaving that same location. Investigators are looking for the victim's vehicle, a 1992 light gold, four-door Acura with Texas license plates H28VMN, which may have been the vehicle observed by the initial witness.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1855 Wirt Road

March 8, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1855 Wirt Road about 5:40 a.m. today (March 8).  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim lying in the middle of the parking lot.  He had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.  

Witnesses in the area stated they heard multiple gunshots sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.

At this time, there is no known suspect(s) or motive.
