Incident at 5322 Castlecreek Lane

March 25, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5322 Castlecreek Lane about 1:50 a.m. today (Mar. 25).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.P. Booth and Officer A.D. Brown reported:

HPD officers responded to a reported shooting call and discovered the victim shot inside the front door of the residence. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1500 Chimney Rock Road

March 21, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1500 Chimney Rock Road about 3 a.m. on Sunday (March 20).

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The victim was driving a black Jeep Cherokee at a high rate of speed southbound at the above address. The Jeep left the roadway and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The driver died at the scene.

Local residents were able to break the back window of the SUV, allowing the front-seat passenger to crawl out of the burning vehicle to safety. The passenger was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is continuing.
