Update on Hurricane Ike Round 2, Phase 2 CDBG-DR application -- HCDD has completed its review of all written and public comments on the Hurricane Ike Round 2, Phase 2 CDBG-DR Needs Assessment that were received by March 13, 2013. (published 03.20.2013) 




Announcing Public Hearing -- HCDD will hold a public hearing on the Needs Assessment, as required for Hurricane Ike Round 2, Phase 2 CDBG-DR funding. The public hearing will held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. City Hall Annex Council Chambers Public Level.



Announcing Public Hearing ---- HCDD hearing on FHAST - A requirement for the Disaster Recovery Round 2, Phase 2 Application




The City of Houston’s Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) invites the public to comment on its Fair Housing Action Statement – Texas (FHAST), recently approved by the Texas General Land Office.  This approved FHAST is required by the Conciliation Agreement among the State of Texas, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and two housing advocacy agencies.  HCDD will hold a Public Hearing on the approved FHAST on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the City Hall Annex, 901 Bagby Street, Houston, TX  77002 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Written comments will be accepted from the posting of the FHAST through 4:00 p.m.  January 13, 2012.  Send written comments to Peggy Colligan, HCDD, 601 Sawyer Street, Suite 400, Houston, TX  77007.  Please see the links below for more information.



The State of Texas, through the General Land Office, is about to release the second round of approximately $1.7 billion in federal Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief funding. The City of Houston is applying for approximately $178 million to support ongoing recovery activities related to damage caused Hurricane Ike and Dolly. The City is submitting two applications Housing and Non-Housing (e.g. infrastructure) applications and is hosting a public forum on Monday, November 28, 2011 to solicit comments on both applications.
