Fatal Shooting at 10650 Hempstead Highway

March 06, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 10650 Hempstead Highway about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 5).

The male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male victim also suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. The identity of both men is being withheld pending notification to family members.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Officer J. E. Rodriguez reported:

Officers responded to 10650 Hempstead Highway after residents of the Lisa Motel reported hearing gunshots. A witness directed officers to room #114, where the older of the two victims was found deceased. The second victim was still alive.

There does not appear to be any other persons involved in this incident and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
