The identities of the man and woman are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Colbert and R. Ridel reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting-in progress call at an apartment complex at the above address and were told by witnesses that two gunshots were heard from a nearby apartment.  Officers located the apartment, found a woman deceased outside and the front door locked.

Officers were then notified a child was inside the apartment.  Believing the suspect was still inside the apartment, HPD SWAT officers were notified and responded to the scene.  SWAT officers immediately arrived and made entry into the apartment, where they found the male suspect deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Officers also found a male infant inside the apartment unharmed.  At this time, the incident appears to be a murder/suicide related to domestic violence.
