Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1400 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 2:15 p.m. on Saturday (May 26).  

The identity of the female victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer P. Ngo reported:  

The driver of a gray Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling eastbound on the North Loop connector ramp to the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) when the victim, a pedestrian, attempted to cross the lanes of the connector ramp and slipped and fell on the roadway.  The driver was unable to stop and struck the victim.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced her deceased. 

The male driver of the Grand Marquis showed no signs of intoxication, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
