Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 9000 Townpark Drive

October 28, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 9000 Townpark Drive about 6:40 a.m. on Sunday (October 27).

The suspect, Jose Alfredo Hernandez (H/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Hernandez is attached to this news release.

The victim, Manuel Ixmata, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Fregia and J. Roscoe reported:

Mr. Ixmata and suspect Hernandez were part of a larger dispute in an apartment complex parking lot at 6300 Ranchester.  Hernandez chased Ixmata on foot and stabbed him.  Ixmata then ran to his apartment at the above address where he collapsed and was found by his brother.

Further investigation led to the identification of Hernandez as the suspect in this case and he was arrested without incident.
