Investigation into Fatal Crash at 700 State Highway 6 South

January 14, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 700 State Highway 6 South about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday (January 13).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer J. Campbell reported:  

The male victim, a pedestrian,  was attempting to cross the highway while not in a crosswalk.  He was struck by an 18-wheeler traveling traveling northbound on State Highway 6 South.  The female driver had a green light at the time of the incident. 

The driver, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be intoxicated and questioned and released.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
