June 27, 2022 - The fatal shooting of a woman at 4306 Mallow Street about 6 a.m. on Sunday (June 25) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased woman, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Hollohazy and Detective J. Jorsch reported:

The woman and her boyfriend got into an altercation with tenants of another apartment at the above address. When the woman produced a shotgun and pointed it at the tenants, she was subsequently shot by one of the other tenants. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman deceased.

The male shooter, 36, was questioned and released. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and it was determined the incident will be referred to a grand jury.
