Citizens Offering Police Support (C.O.P.S.)

Citizens Offering Police Support (COPS) is a component of the Volunteer Initiatives Program (VIP). COPS form the core support group of volunteers who serve to enhance the delivery of police services. Through their dedicated service, volunteers reflect the quality that is representative of the City of Houston. In turn, the Houston Police Department recognizes the valuable assistance that volunteers provide. Volunteers serve as a bridge between officers and civilians as they represent their communities in many aspects of department-related functions. The Houston Police Department is seeking volunteers to assist with task such as:
