Office of Budget & Finance

The Office of Budget & Finance is responsible for the fiscal management of the department and oversight of its budget of more than $870 million in general revenue funds. The office is led by a civilian deputy director who is a member of the Chief’s senior executive staff. Budget & Finance manages a wide variety of department-level activities that include fiscal planning, accounting, financial reporting, grant management, and asset tracking.

The office is organized into four units:

Administration, which coordinates activities related to revenues and expenditures;
Financial Services, which monitors and formulates multi-year forecasts
Accounting Services, which handles the day-to-day management of department funds (e.g., accounts payable and receivable operations); and
Procurement, which oversees all of HPD’s purchasing.
