Investigation into Shooting at 6301 West Bellfort
March 16, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 6301 West Bellfort about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday (March 15).
The victim, Angel Riveria-Cortez, 18, of Houston, was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
HPD Homicide Division Officers J. Nielsen and K. Mokwa reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a apartment complex parking lot at the above address. Multiple witnesses told police that several persons exited a small red pickup truck and one of them confronted Mr. Riveria-Cortez at his vehicle. At that time, the suspect fired several shots and struck the passenger side of the vehicle, as well as Riveria-Cortez. The suspects fled the scene after the shooting. HFD paramedics transported Riveria-Cortez to the hospital.
