Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2011 Cold Case Murder

Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the homicide of an infant found at 4700 South Kirkwood about 10:15 a.m. on November 15, 2011. 

The suspect, Kenneth Wayne Driver, 38, is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court.  A Harris County Sheriff's Office booking photo of Driver is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Jamarian Wayne Anthony, 2 months old, who was pronounced dead at Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer P. Vela reported:

In November 2011, baby Anthony was found unresponsive in his apartment and was subsequently pronounced dead.  An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences revealed blunt force trauma injuries to the baby's head and neck.  Investigators questioned Driver as part of the initial investigation in 2011, but he denied any involvement in the death of baby Anthony.

On April 17, 2018, Driver was arrested on an unrelated charge and was booked into the Harris County jail.  On Wednesday (April 25), investigators with the HPD Homicide Cold Case Unit interviewed Driver.  He confessed to his role in he baby's death and was subsequently charged.
