Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1300 Crosstimbers

December 21, 2018 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1300 Crosstimbers about 7:45 p.m. on December 14.

The suspect, Charles McCray (b/m, 58), is charged with murder and felon in possession of a weapon in the 263rd State District Court.  A booking photo of McCray is attached to this news release.

The victim, Delbert Turner, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Barrow and J. Stroble reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Turner, who had been shot at least one time.  He was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  

Investigators learned that prior to the shooting, Turner was involved in an argument with the suspect, who was described only as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Further investigation led to the identity of McCray as the suspect in this case and he was arrested without incident on Wednesday (Dec. 19).
