Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1100 Tidwell
June 6, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1100 Tidwell about 6:25 a.m. today.
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer M. Tamez reported:
The driver of a black Chrysler Pacifica was westbound on Tidwell and stopped at a traffic light in the left turn lane. Just as the vehicle began to turn with the green light, the victim ran in front of the Chrysler and was struck. The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Chrysler, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was at fault for failing to yield the right-of-way to the vehicle.
