2nd Update: HPD Investigators Seek Public's Help in Identifying Deceased Female

June 14, 2018 - Houston police have learned more information and are asking for the public's help in identifying a female victim whose remains were found at 10611 F.M. 1960 about 10:10 a.m. on March 24.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Barr and M. Perez reported:

HPD Marine Patrol officers were flagged down by witnesses regarding a suspicious black trash bag found by volunteers picking up trash along a bridge near the above address.  Officers saw what appeared to be human hair in the bag.  HPD homicide investigators responded to the scene and confirmed human remains in an advanced state of decomposition inside the bag.

After conferring with members of the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, investigators believe the female likely had naturally dark hair and possible brown or dark brown eyes.  The victim had top and bottom rotated (winged) teeth that would have been noticeable to anyone who may have known her.

A previously released sketch reconstruction of the unidentified female is attached to this news release.

Anyone with information on the identity of the deceased female or with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
