Update: Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 611 Dairy Ashford

Two suspects have been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 611 Dairy Ashford about 11:55 p.m. on April 30.  

Jace Weeks (w/m, 19) and Devyn Durham (w/m, 19) are both charged with murder in the 179th State District Court.  A booking photo of Weeks is attached to this news release.  A photo of Durham is not available at this time.

Both are accused in the shooting death of Sam Kyle James, 31.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant. M. Holbrook and Detectives K. McDonald, S. Overstreet and M. Cass reported:

Mr. James was found shot and unresponsive in an apartment complex parking garage at the above address.  He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
 
James' girlfriend stated to investigators that he was with her at the above address and told her he was going to the parking garage to meet someone.

Subsequent investigation led to the identification of the suspects in this case as Weeks and Durhman. On Sunday, May 6, both were charged with murder. On Monday (May 7), Weeks turned himself in to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.  On Tuesday (May 8), Durham was arrested by Angelina County Sheriff's deputies following a pursuit with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office and the Huntington Police Department in which shots were fired.  Durham remains in custody in Angelina County.
