Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6220 Hamblen about 2 a.m. on Sunday (May 20).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Maness and Officer R. Singleton reported:

The victim was driving a red Ford F-250 pickup truck at a high rate of speed west on Hamble when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a mailbox.  The impact caused the truck to roll over and the victim was ejected.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.
