Surveillance Photos Released in Fatal Shooting at 5912 Gulfton

October 26, 2018 - Houston police have released surveillance photos of two female persons of interest investigators would like to speak to regarding the fatal shooting of a man at 5912 Gulfton about 7 a.m. on Saturday (October 6).

The victim, Mario A. Lopez, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Perez and A. Barr reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Houston Fire Department paramedics unsuccessfully rendering aid to Mr. Lopez in the strip center parking lot. 

Investigators obtained surveillance video which showed the victim, two females and a dark-colored sedan.  On the video, the victim was seen walking to a nearby store with an unknown female.  As they walked, they were followed by an unknown dark-colored sedan.  When the female and victim enter the store, they are joined by a second unknown female.  As the three leave the store, the same sedan follows them and a suspect from inside the vehicle begins shooting at Lopez.  The vehicle then flees the scene at a high rate of speed.
