Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4400 Castor

October 29, 2018 - The fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 4400 Castor at 9:30 p.m. last Friday (October 26) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Heaverlo and B. Roberts reported:

Around 7 p.m. on Friday evening, officers responded to a family violence call at the above address and determined a female victim had been transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and the suspect had fled the scene. 

A few hours later, at 9:30 p.m. officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found a male (previous suspect) lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The shooter, who remained at the scene, stated he feared for his life and for the safety of his family when he shot the male who had returned to the scene after the previous incident.

The investigation is continuing.
