Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 3700 HIllcroft

September 28, 2018 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 3700 Hillcroft about 8 p.m. on September 17.  

The suspect, Francisco Ixtos-Ixmata (H/m, 41), is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 176th State District Court.  A booking photo of Ixtos-Ixmata is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the male victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer R. Gonzalez reported:  

The victim was walking in the parking lot at the above address when he fell to the ground and was struck by a white Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Ixtos-Ixmata.  Ixtos-Ixmata then exited the vehicle and looked at the victim, before returning to his vehicle and fleeing the scene without rendering assistance.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.  He was later transferred to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased on Thursday (September 27).  

On September 18, Ixtos-Ixmata turned himself in to police officers at the HPD Midwest Patrol Station and was subsequently charged for his role in the crash.
