Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 11005 Courtshire

October 22, 2019 - The fatal shooting of a male suspect that occurred at 11005 Courtshire about 12:10 a.m. Saturday will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The suspect, Andres Cruz, 42, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.    

The male shooter was physically assaulted and suffered unknown injuries.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Young and T. Jackson reported: 

Cruz and a second male suspect forced entry into the residence at the above address with the intent of robbing the homeowners.  Cruz, armed with a rifle, threatened the homeowners and physically assaulted the male homeowner.  The male was able to retrieve his own weapon and shot Cruz several times.  Cruz collapsed in the driveway of the residence as he and the second suspect fled.  Paramedics transported Cruz to the hospital.  

The second suspect is believed to have fled in a gray or silver-colored SUV.
