Update: Person of Interest Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 215 West Little York Road

October 25, 2019 - Houston police have learned the identity of a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 215 West Little York Road about 9 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 23).

The individual, Idelfonso Gamez Torres, 42, was last seen driving a 2004 red Ford Explorer with Texas license plates BH05601.  He has not been formally charged, but is wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of Augustin Martinez, 48, and the wounding of another man, 45.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and C. Sharp reported:  

Mr. Martinez, a tow truck driver, was giving a ride to a customer when he got into a verbal altercation with two males in a red Ford Explorer at an apartment complex parking lot at the above address.  The suspects became hostile and one of them pulled a pistol.and fired multiple shots from inside the vehicle at the wrecker and struck Martinez and his customer.  Martinez attempted to flee, but crashed his vehicle and died at the scene.  Paramedics transported the customer to the hospital. 

Martinez managed to take the attached photo of both suspects prior to the shooting. 

After the photos were publicized, individuals identified Torres as the driver of the suspects' vehicle.  It is believed he might flee or has fled to Mexico.
