Update: Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 8401 Glenscott Street
October 29 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man that occurred at 8401 Glenscott about 10:35 p.m. on September 26.
The suspect, Edgar Villanueva (H/m, 44), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 180th Stat District Court. A photo of Villanueva is not currently available.
The victim, William Melendez, 19, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives B. Salazar and A. Graf reported:
Mr. Melendez was arguing with an unknown suspect at an apartment complex and then walked into a nearby neighborhood at the above address. A dark-colored vehicle pulled alongside him and an unknown suspect shot him.
Further investigation led to the identification and charging of Villanueva as a suspect in this case.
