Investigation into Shooting at 11402 Martin Luther King Boulevard

August 13, 2020 - The shooting of a man at 11402 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 12) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The wounded male, Abdul McDavid, 55, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  The male shooter, 83, was not injured.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer K. Saulsberry reported:

Mr. McDavid approached a group of three males standing outside the convenience store at the above address and began arguing with one of the males.  He pushed the male against a glass window of the store.  The male, who is disabled, then pulled a gun and asked McDavid to back away from him.  McDavid yelled to the male to shoot him and then ran toward the male.  At that time, the male then shot McDavid one time in the chest. 

Paramedics transported McDavid to the hospital.  The male was detained at the scene, was questioned and then released.
