Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5200 Reed Road

February 21, 2020 - A man critically injured in an auto-pedestrian crash at 5200 Reed Road about 7:45 p.m. on January 2 has died.  

The identity of the victim, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Southeast Patrol Division Officer D. Passarella reported:  

The driver of a blue Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a male pedestrian (victim) crossing Reed Road.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.  The female driver, 22,, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released. 

Doctors pronounced the male deceased today (February 21).  No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
