Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3300 Winbern Street

July 13, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 3300 Winbern Street about 3:45 p.m. last Friday (July 10).

The victim, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Arrington and L. Osborn reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Further investigation determined the victim was standing on an apartment complex sidewalk when he was approached by an unknown suspect.  The suspect began shooting at the victim and then fled the scene on foot.
