Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4312 Crane Street

June 29, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 4312 Crane Street about 7:20 p.m. last Friday (June 26).

The identity of the victim, 67, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at an apartment at the above address where they were told a female who frequents the apartment complex checked on the victim and found him unresponsive.  Officers arrived and observed the victim lying on the bed, unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.

Witnesses heard what they believed to be one gunshot, however could not make out which apartment unit it was coming from.  A few minutes later, witnesses observed two unknown black males, possibly 40-50 years of age, whom they had never seen before, standing near the front door of the victim's apartment.  The two males left the location prior to the arrival of officers and were not known to return.

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
