Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5500 Elm Tree Drive
June 29, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 5500 Elm Tree Drive about 10 a.m. on June 24.
The identity of the victim, 57, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. R. Murdock and Detective A. Barr reported:
About 9:30 a.m., witnesses heard several gunshots in the street near the intersection of the above address and 5500 Canterway Drive. A short time later, the victim was found partially inside the open passenger door of his vehicle, which was pulled over to the side of the street.
At this time, robbery is believed to be the motive in the shooting.
