Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2500 Gulf Freeway

November 23, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 22).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Clark and Officer C. Song reported:

The victim was being chased across the Gulf Freeway by an unknown male for unknown reasons.  As the victim ran on to the freeway main lanes at the above address, he was struck by a gray GMC Sierra pickup truck and a brown Ford F-150 pickup truck.  Both drivers stopped to render aid and stated the person chasing the victim took a black bag from the victim's body and then ran back across the freeway to safety. 

Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Patrol officers and investigators searched the area for any leads on the unknown male who fled.  The investigation is continuing.
