Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7900 Southwest Freeway

November 24, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 7900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 7:25 p.m. on Saturday (November 21).  

The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Naughton and L. Patterson reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a crash at the above address and found the victim deceased in the driver's seat of a vehicle.  He had sustained a gunshot wound.  Witnesses stated they heard a gunshot and saw a gold Toyota Corolla strike a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.  The Corolla then struck an air pump at a gas station. 

Other witnesses stated they saw the Corolla in the U-turn lane and a black male standing near the vehicle prior to him crashing into the air pump.  

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
