Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1100 South Shepherd Drive

November 25, 2020 - A man injured in a crash at 1100 South Shepherd Drive about 4:10 a.m. on October 1 has died.  

The identity of the victim, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R. Bymaster reported:  

The driver of a white Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling southbound near the above address when he veered into the northbound lanes and struck a gray Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck.  The driver of the Colorado was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  Doctors pronounced him deceased on November 19.  

The driver of the Ford, Warren Sebastiaan McMahan (w/m 25), was detained at the scene and determined to be intoxicated.  He was subsequently charged with intoxicated assault with a vehicle in the 208th State District Court.  A booking photo of McMahan is attached to this news release.  

The investigation is continuing.
