Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4300 Phlox Street

October 20, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 4300 Phlox Street about 4:45 p.m. on Monday (October 19).  

The victim, Cardell Taylor, 40, of the above address, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Martinez and D. Higgs reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and learned Houston Fire Department paramedics had transported Mr. Taylor to the hospital with gunshot wounds.  Furhter investigation determined a black, newer model sedan drove by the location and shot Taylor several times and then fled the scene.  Investigators determined Taylor was out on bond for a murder in September 2020.  

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
