Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 12023 Bissonnet Street

September 21, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 12023 Bissonnet about 1:05 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 19).

The identity of the victim, 36, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective D. Stark reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was outside his apartment at the above address when he was confronted by an unknown suspect and a gunshot was heard.  The victim was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. 

The suspect, described only as a black male, fled in an unknown direction.  

At this time, investigators believe robbery was not the motive for the shooting.
