Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault at 6802 Cullen Boulevard

September 28, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the assault of a woman at 6802 Cullen Boulevard about 1:30 p.m. last Thursday (September 24).  

The suspect, Alexus Carol Richards (b/f, 24), is charged with aggravated assault-serious bodily injury in the 209th State District Court.  She is accused in the assault of Kewona Williams, 34, who was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers Z. Brumley and M. Althaus reported:  

Ms. Williams and her friends got into an argument with Richards and her friends.  Williams threw a hammer at Richards' vehicle and walked back to the passenger side of her friend's vehicle.  

As Williams was entering the vehicle, Richards intentionally drove at William and pinned her leg between the vehicle and the passenger door.  Richards then reversed and intentionally struck Williams in the leg a second time.  Williams was transported by paramedics to the hospital.  Richards was detained at the scene and subsequently charged for her role in the incident.
