Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 3105 East Crosstimbers Street

April 23, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 3105 East Crosstimbers Street about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday (April 22).  

The suspect, Lucio Duque Bolanos (H/m 29), is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 180th State District Court for his role in the shooting of Johnathan Sanchez Castillo, 24, who was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Graf II and F. Lee, Jr. reported:  

Mr. Sanchez Castillo and others were in a vehicle playing a game on their phones when Duque Bolanos approached them and an argument ensured.  Duque Bolanos then pointed a gun at one man and attempted to shoot him, however the weapon malfunctioned.  When Sanchez Castillo attempted to calm the situation, Duque Bolanos fired several shots at him, striking Sanchez Castillo once in the chest.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Sanchez Castillo to the hospital, where doctors stated he is expected to survive his wounds.  

Duque Bolanos was taken into custody and subsequently charged in the shooting.
