Investigation into Shooting at 5700 South Gessner Road

August 2, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male and female at 5700 South Gessner Road that occurred about 2:55 a.m. on Sunday (August 1).

Both victims were transported to area hospitals.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers J. Cimeni and G. Black reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a bar at the above address and found the female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.  The female victim was sitting inside a SUV with three other persons when the vehicle was approached by six to seven unknown male suspects.  The two parties exchanged words for a few minutes  before the female victim got out of the vehicle.  Immediately after the victim got out of the SUV, the two groups began shooting at each other.  One of the suspects was struck and the female was struck.  The males inside the SUV fled the scene, leaving the victim behind.  The victim was transported by HFD paramedics to an area hospital in critical condition.  The unknown suspects on foot fled in an unknown direction.  The male suspect that was shot was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
