August 9, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7500 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) that occurred about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday (August 8).  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer D. Nguyen reported:  

A blue Honda Accord was traveling westbound near the above address and pulled over to the shoulder so the driver and passenger could swap seats.  As they were outside the vehicle, a vehicle of unknown make and model struck the left side of the Honda, did not stop and continued to drive away.  

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim  deceased.  The driver was transported to an area hospital.  The driver's son, also a passenger in the Honda, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
