August 11, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 13000 Leader Street that occurred about 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday (August 10).

The victim, Issac Dexter Linton, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Linton deceased at the scene.  Initial reports were Linton had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was found with a weapon in hand on the sidewalk in front of the residence.

Further investigation, and additional evidence, indicated he had been shot by a known suspect who had a relationship with Linton's wife.

The suspect had entered Linton's residence searching for Linton's wife and caught Linton by surprise.  Both men then exchanged words.  Linton retrieved a firearm and followed the suspect to the street where the suspect's vehicle was parked.  The argument continued and Linton pulled the firearm from his pocket and pointed it at the suspect.  The suspect the pulled his own weapon and shot Linton in the chest and fled the scene.
