Investigation into Shooting at 4002 North Main Street

August 16, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 4002 North Main Street about 3:15 a.m. on Saturday (August 14).

The victim, Leonardo Espitia, 33, was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening wounds.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers F. Lee and V. Habukiha reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a bar and grill at the above address and were advised that Mr. Espitia had sustained gunshot wounds to his right shoulder and throat area.  Paramedics transported him to the hospital.

Witnesses stated a verbal altercation between a group of customers inside the bar escalated when an unknown male suspect began firing shots.  Espitia was struck and the suspect fled the scene.
