Incident at 3239 Dragonwick Drive

March 3, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3239 Dragonwick Dr. just before midnight on Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

The victim is identified as Cedric Ross, 25, address unknown.

HPD Homicide Division Sgt. W.P. Booth and Officer D.S. Null reported:

The victim and his friends were playing video games inside the garage when numerous gunshots were fired. Ross suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim's friends called 911 and HFD transported Ross to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that shortly before the shooting there had been an argument between the males in the garage and another male in a brown Cadillac.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2100 Sakowitz Street

August 25, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 2100 Sakowitz Street about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 24).

The identity of the deceased victim, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The other victim, Luis Roy Almendarez, 41, was suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detectives J. Campbell and H. Horne reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and were told the two victims were walking down the roadway when unknown suspects in a dark colored truck began shooting at the men.  One of the victims was struck multiple times.  Paramedics transported him to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The other victim, Mr. Almendarez, refused medical treatment.

There is no known motive or suspect description in the shooting at this time.
